ROW 1: 4 EQUAL PANELS, SINGLE LINE BORDERS

PANEL 1.

OVER BLACK:

[TEXT] There are 3 gamers within me...

PANEL 2.

An anthromorphic water buffalo named Anh, dressed in a "casual" business jacket of blue over a light gray shirt, intensely contemplates a game of ROVE on the table before him, while holding his hand of movement cards under his chin in deep thought.

The line style is clean, with a discreet gray background.

[ANH] Hmmmm.

PANEL 3.

An anthromorphic horse named Chị, dressed in a T-shirt with the slogan "RIDE or DIE for UNIX" (with UNIX in math tex special set letters), stands at the table, leaning forwards, pointing at an off-screen opponent, her expression enthusiastically triumphant. On the table is a game of Grand Austria Hotel, with multiple resource cubes (cake, wine, pastries) in organized piles in front of her.

The line art is simple and rendered in a monochrome manga style, complete with speed lines in the background.

[CHỊ] HA! Vengeance is mine!

PANEL 4.

A short anthromorphic bat named aj -- with arms, legs, and wings as separate pairs of limbs -- with a messy head of hair, looks over a table with fiendish glee on aj's features. The game is labeled Concordia. There is a pile of resource wood pieces in front of aj.

[OFFSCREEN] ... why are you hoarding the cloth?

[AJ] I wanna see how it breaks.

Commentary

I have been kind of working tentatively on a (very randomly, rarely updated, because chronic illness and disability) comic that is slice-of-life, semi-autobiographical. If it ever goes anywhere, it’s called Three Queers in a Trenchcoat.

Board games are part of my life, so… this one felt relevant.

I have been pondering potentially making a (very randomly, rarely updated, because chronic illness and disability) comic about playing board games.

I also put the comic up on Comic Fury, in case you run across it there for some reason.
